Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is a challenge created by some guy called Mike Fox. The fundamental ‘rules'of the challenge are that you text someone (usually a boyfriend or a family member, depending on what the song is) song lyric.
You're banned to use anything but the lyrics of the song. Say for instance you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something such as this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at all my honesty
Mom: What ? Maybe you have lost the plot again ?
You: You realize I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I am hoping I don't go out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, could be the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I will barely breathe” watch for their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do is to fall in deep” - await a response.
Their response will usually be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - simply take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of text messages sent using words from a certain song to a certain person. The prank is mostly to troll the prospective or to obtain them super confused.

A lyric prank is when you are texting someone the lyrics of a song and they do not it. Example:
John: It's been a long day, without you my friend.
Jane: I know right. I haven't seen you all day long!
John: And I'll tell you exactly about it when I see you again.
Jane: Why don't you tell me at this time?
John: We've come quite a distance from where we began
Jane: WAIT!! You remember once we met? In 2nd grade!!
John: Oh I'll inform you all about it when I help you again.
Jane: Why can't you simply tell me now!!?
John: When I help you again.
Jane: Oh!! You want to ensure it is special!! When I see you again we will talk.
