Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is challenging developed by a guy called Mike Fox. The essential ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a sweetheart or a member of family, depending on which the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to utilize anything but the lyrics of that song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at all of my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You know I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I really hope I don't run out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption

Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …

A lyric prank is whenever you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I can barely breathe” await their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do would be to fall in deep” - await a response.
Their response will usually be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of texts sent using words from the certain song to a specific person. The prank is mainly to troll the prospective or to have them super confused.
