Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes called the lyric challenge, is challenging developed by a man called Mike Fox. The essential ‘rules'of the challenge are that you text someone (usually a companion or a member of family, depending on what the song is) song lyric.
You're banned to make use of anything however the lyrics of this song. Say for instance you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something like this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

You: You gotta go and get angry at every one of my honesty
Mom: What ? Perhaps you have lost the plot again ?
You: You realize I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I hope I don't run out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, could be the Lyric Prank.

A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I can barely breathe” await their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do is to fall in deep” - await a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.

A lyric prank is a series of text messages sent using words from a certain song to a certain person. The prank is certainly caused by to troll the goal or to obtain them super confused.

Jane: Why don't you tell me right now?
John: We've come a long way from where we began
Jane: WAIT!! You remember when we met? In 2nd grade!!
John: Oh I'll tell you about it when I help you again.
