Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes known as the lyric challenge, is a challenge created by a man called Mike Fox. The basic ‘rules'of the process are that you text someone (usually a companion or a member of family, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to use anything however the lyrics of that song. Say for example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

You: You gotta go and get angry at all my honesty
Mom: What ? Maybe you have lost the plot again ?
You: You know I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I am hoping I don't go out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …

A lyric prank is whenever you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I will barely breathe” await their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do would be to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will often be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
