Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is challenging created by a man called Mike Fox. The fundamental ‘rules'of the challenge are that you text someone (usually a partner or a family member, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to make use of anything but the lyrics of the song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something such as this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

A lyric prank is when you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I will barely breathe” watch for their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - just take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
