Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is a challenge created by some guy called Mike Fox. The essential ‘rules'of the challenge are that you text someone (usually a boyfriend or a family member, depending on which the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to make use of anything but the lyrics of the song. Say like you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something like this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at every one of my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You realize I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I am hoping I don't go out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, could be the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is when you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I will barely breathe” await their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - await a response.
Their response will usually be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - just take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of texts sent using words from the certain song to a certain person. The prank is mainly to troll the prospective or to obtain them super confused.

A lyric prank is when you're texting someone the lyrics of a tune and they do not it. Example:
John: It's been a lengthy day, without you my friend.
Jane: I know right. I haven't seen you all day!
