Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes called the lyric challenge, is challenging produced by a guy called Mike Fox. The essential ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a sweetheart or a member of family, depending on which the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to use anything but the lyrics of this song. Say for example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something such as this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

A lyric prank is when you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But what you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I could barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do is to fall in deep” - await a response.
Their response will often be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
