Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes known as the lyric challenge, is challenging developed by a guy called Mike Fox. The essential ‘rules'of the challenge are that you text someone (usually a partner or a family member, depending on what the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to make use of anything but the lyrics of this song. Say for example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something such as this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I could barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type the next verse, “And all I wanna do would be to fall in deep” - wait for a response.
Their response will often be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - simply take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
