Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is a challenge created by some guy called Mike Fox. The basic ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a sweetheart or a member of family, depending on what the song is) song lyric.
You're not allowed to utilize anything but the lyrics of that song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

You: You gotta go and get angry at each of my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You realize I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I hope I don't go out of time, will someone call a referee ?

Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …

A lyric prank is whenever you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I will barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do is to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will usually be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - simply take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
