Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is a challenge developed by a man called Mike Fox. The essential ‘rules'of the challenge are that you text someone (usually a partner or a member of family, depending on what the song is) song lyric.
You're not allowed to use anything but the lyrics of the song. Say for instance you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at every one of my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You know I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I really hope I don't run out of time, will someone call a referee ?

Mom: you're still up for adoption

A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I can barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type the next verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - just take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of text messages sent using words from the certain song to a particular person. The prank is certainly caused by to troll the goal or to obtain them super confused.
