Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes called the lyric challenge, is challenging developed by a guy called Mike Fox. The fundamental ‘rules'of the process are that you text someone (usually a man or a member of family, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're banned to use anything but the lyrics of the song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at all of my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You know I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I hope I don't go out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, is the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is when you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But what you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I can barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do is to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - just take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is some text messages sent using words from the certain song to a particular person. The prank is mainly to troll the goal or to get them super confused.

A lyric prank is when you are texting someone the lyrics of a song and they do not it. Example:
John: This has been an extended day, without you my friend.
Jane: I understand right. I haven't seen you all day!
