Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes called the lyric challenge, is a challenge created by a guy called Mike Fox. The basic ‘rules'of the process are that you text someone (usually a companion or a family member, depending on what the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to use anything but the lyrics of that song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something such as this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at all my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You know I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I hope I don't run out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, could be the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But what you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I could barely breathe” await their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do is to fall in deep” - wait for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of texts sent using words from a certain song to a particular person. The prank is mainly to troll the prospective or to obtain them super confused.

A lyric prank is when you are texting someone the lyrics of a tune and they don't really it. Example:
John: It's been an extended day, without you my friend.
Jane: I know right. I haven't seen you all day!
John: And I'll inform you all about it when I see you again.
Jane: Why don't you tell me at this time?
John: We've come a long way from where we began
Jane: WAIT!! You remember whenever we met? In 2nd grade!!
John: Oh I'll tell you exactly about it when I see you again.
Jane: Why can't you merely tell me now!!?
John: When I see you again.
Jane: Oh!! You want to make it special!! When I see you again we shall talk.
