Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes known as the lyric challenge, is challenging created by a guy called Mike Fox. The fundamental ‘rules'of the process are that you text someone (usually a boyfriend or a family member, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're not allowed to make use of anything but the lyrics of the song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something like this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

A lyric prank is whenever you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But what you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I could barely breathe” await their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will usually be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - just take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
