Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is a challenge developed by a guy called Mike Fox. The fundamental ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a man or a relative, depending on what the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to utilize anything but the lyrics of the song. Say for example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at each of my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You realize I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I hope I don't run out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption

You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, is the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is when you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But that which you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I can barely breathe” await their response. Then type the next verse, “And all I wanna do is to fall in deep” - wait for a response.
Their response will usually be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - simply take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of texts sent using words from the certain song to a particular person. The prank is mainly to troll the prospective or to have them super confused.

A lyric prank is when you are texting someone the lyrics of a song and they don't really it. Example:
