Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes known as the lyric challenge, is a challenge created by a man called Mike Fox. The fundamental ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a partner or a family member, depending on which the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to make use of anything but the lyrics of that song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But that which you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I can barely breathe” watch for their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will often be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
