Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes known as the lyric challenge, is a challenge produced by a man called Mike Fox. The basic ‘rules'of the challenge are that you text someone (usually a companion or a family member, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to utilize anything but the lyrics of the song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something like this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I will barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - wait for a response.
