Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes called the lyric challenge, is a challenge produced by a guy called Mike Fox. The essential ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a partner or a relative, depending on which the song is) song lyric.
You're not allowed to make use of anything but the lyrics of that song. Say for instance you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something like this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

A lyric prank is when you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But what you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I could barely breathe” await their response. Then type the next verse, “And all I wanna do is to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
