Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is a challenge developed by a guy called Mike Fox. The fundamental ‘rules'of the process are that you text someone (usually a sweetheart or a member of family, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to make use of anything but the lyrics of this song. Say for example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something like this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at all of my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You realize I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I really hope I don't run out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, is the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But that which you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I can barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - wait for a response.
Their response will often be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of texting sent using words from a certain song to a particular person. The prank is mostly to troll the prospective or to have them super confused.

John: And I'll let you know about it when I see you again.
Jane: Why don't you tell me right now?
John: We've come a considerable ways from where we began
Jane: WAIT!! You remember once we met? In 2nd grade!!
John: Oh I'll let you know all about it when I help you again.
