Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is a challenge developed by some guy called Mike Fox. The fundamental ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a boyfriend or a member of family, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're banned to use anything however the lyrics of that song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something such as this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at most of my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You understand I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I hope I don't go out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, could be the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is whenever you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But that which you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I could barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - wait for a response.
Their response will usually be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - simply take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of texts sent using words from a certain song to a certain person. The prank is mainly to troll the mark or to have them super confused.

A lyric prank is if you are texting someone the lyrics of a tune and they don't it. Example:
