Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is a challenge produced by a guy called Mike Fox. The basic ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a sweetheart or a member of family, depending on which the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to use anything but the lyrics of this song. Say for instance you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

A lyric prank is when you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But that which you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I will barely breathe” await their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do would be to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - just take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
