Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes called the lyric challenge, is challenging developed by a man called Mike Fox. The basic ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a sweetheart or a relative, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're not allowed to use anything but the lyrics of this song. Say for instance you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something like this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

You: You gotta go and get angry at most of my honesty
Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You know I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I really hope I don't run out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …

A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I will barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do would be to fall in deep” - wait for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.

A lyric prank is some text messages sent using words from the certain song to a specific person. The prank is mostly to troll the target or to get them super confused.
