Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is difficult created by a man called Mike Fox. The essential ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a sweetheart or a member of family, depending on what the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to use anything but the lyrics of the song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

A lyric prank is when you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But everything you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I could barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type the following verse, “And all I wanna do is to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
