Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes referred to as the lyric challenge, is difficult developed by some guy called Mike Fox. The basic ‘rules'of the process are that you text someone (usually a man or a member of family, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're banned to utilize anything but the lyrics of the song. Say for instance you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something such as this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

Mom: What ? Have you lost the plot again ?
You: You realize I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I hope I don't come to an end of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, is the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But that which you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I could barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - watch for a response.
Their response will often be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - just take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of text messages sent using words from the certain song to a specific person. The prank is mainly to troll the target or to obtain them super confused.

A lyric prank is if you are texting someone the lyrics of a song and they don't really it. Example:
John: This has been a long day, without you my friend.
Jane: I am aware right. I haven't seen you all day long!
John: And I'll let you know exactly about it when I help you again.
Jane: Why don't you tell me today?
John: We've come a considerable ways from where we began
Jane: WAIT!! You remember whenever we met? In 2nd grade!!
John: Oh I'll let you know about it when I help you again.
Jane: Why can't you merely tell me now!!?
