Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes known as the lyric challenge, is difficult developed by a guy called Mike Fox. The fundamental ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a boyfriend or a relative, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're prohibited to make use of anything but the lyrics of the song. Say as an example you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :

You: I am hoping I don't run out of time, will someone call a referee ?

See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, could be the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is once you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But what you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I can barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - wait for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of text messages sent using words from the certain song to a certain person. The prank is mainly to troll the target or to get them super confused.
