Basically, the lyric prank, or sometimes called the lyric challenge, is a challenge created by some guy called Mike Fox. The essential ‘rules'of the task are that you text someone (usually a man or a family member, depending about what the song is) song lyric.
You're banned to make use of anything but the lyrics of this song. Say for instance you used ‘Sorry'by good ol'Justin Bieber, your conversation would go something similar to this (let's just use your clueless mom) :
You: You gotta go and get angry at each of my honesty
Mom: What ? Maybe you have lost the plot again ?
You: You understand I try but I don't do to well with apologies
Mom: that's certainly true. What's this even about michael (??)
You: I really hope I don't run out of time, will someone call a referee ?
Mom: You're up for adoption
You: -_-
You: IT'S A PRANK
Mom: you're still up for adoption
You: …
See ? And that, ladies and gentle men, is the Lyric Prank.
A lyric prank is whenever you text your friend, family or significant others lyrics to a song. But that which you do is you text them in single sentences and be cryptic, like: “I'm so into you, I can barely breathe” wait for their response. Then type another verse, “And all I wanna do is always to fall in deep” - wait for a response.
Their response will most likely be confusion. That example is Ariana Grande “Into You” - simply take the lyric and send your “victim” the text.
A lyric prank is a series of text messages sent using words from a certain song to a certain person. The prank is mainly to troll the prospective or to have them super confused.

Jane: I understand right. I haven't seen you all day!
John: And I'll tell you about it when I help you again.
Jane: Why don't you tell me today?
John: We've come a considerable ways from where we began
Jane: WAIT!! You remember whenever we met? In 2nd grade!!
John: Oh I'll let you know about it when I help you again.
Jane: Why can't you merely tell me now!!?
